Harlequin Historical Contest!

Happy Jane Austen Birthday, everyone! (Also, Beethoven's birthday. And my mom's, which reminds me I need to go buy her a present before this evening...) I'm so excited today is my day on the big Harlequin Historical Advent Calendar contest. First things first--go to my website and read the instructions for entering. Your comments here will put you in the running for the grand prize of a Kindle, as well as my own prize of a Cozy Winter Evening--cocoa, china mugs to drink it in, biscuits from my local British supply store, and a signed book! You can have your pick of any of the books on the sidebar of this blog, just let me know which you would like in the comments. (It can be either an Amanda or Laurel book. You can also "Like" my Facebook page, Amanda McCabe Books. And I have another contest going on this blog--just scroll down a couple of entries...)

Good luck, and thanks for visiting!

I would be happy to receive any book as I am new to them all.

    ReplyDelete
  122. The Duchess of Sin has a clean, modern look, sensual yet tasteful. It stands out from the costume-shop and heaving-bosom covers that have, in my opinion, characterized historical romances for far too long. Uncluttered covers exhibiting some originality and design sense invariably draw my attention; the same old suffocating bolts of musty-smelling fabric, phalanxes of candelabra, and posturing heroes do not. Covers in the latter group all run together for me, and not in a good way. They have the same level of ham-handed, unimaginative ugly.

Sorry for my bluntness! :) Happy Holidays, Amanda.

  147. Hi Amanda - I wasn't sure if I would have a chance to get on here tonight. All the covers are great, but I think I would have to say that Rogue Grooms would have to be my favorite.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all.

  148. Hi Amanda. Of all the covers, Snow Queen stands out to me for the richness of the clothing coupled with the mystery of what is just out of frame. It is my hands down favorite cover.
If I am the randomly selected winner I would love to read Regency Christmas Proposals. If I don't win, I'll be headed to the bookstore to buy it so I'm still very glad you brought us to your site!
    Thank you

My favorite cover is To Catch a Rogue because the couple looks like they have real chemistry. I also like Duchess of Sin because she looks mysterious and alluring. I would like to win To Catch a Rogue because it captured my attention :)

  159. Hi Amanda,

I am so glad to have entered the advent contest. I think all your covers are beautiful. However, I think the one that caught my attention the most was the Countess of Scandal. The colors are so vibrant and also she almost looks life like.
The two other favorites that jumped out at me was, Improper Ladies, and High Seas Stowaway. There almost seem like there jumping off the page. Happy Christmas.

  167. The Winter Queen as it does not look too modern for an historical novel.
