Wedding Celebration

I'm talking about my royal wedding obsession at the Riskies today! And since I feel in the mood to celebrate, I'm also having an impromptu contest--one commenter will receive a free download of my latest "Undone" story, To Court Capture and Conquer! Just tell me your favorite royal moment, and I will announce a winner this weekend...

I can never decide, but I'm going to go with Princess Di's wedding. I used to look at a coffee table book over and over as a teenager. (I was tomboy, so it freaked my cousins out a little bit! lol)

PS I would love to win this. I had a couple of your ebooks on my laptop and it was stolen :( So fair warning to everyone else who enters, I am hexing you! LOL jk, Idk how.

I 'd have to say when Prince William was born. Princess Diana was radiant!
I'd love to read "Undone"!

My favourite moment was way before Charles' and Di's nuptuals.

Imagine how different things would've been for Charles had his mother not ascended to the throne.

All those years ago, our school filed into the local theatre to see the film, "A Queen is Crowned". Back then, there were no televisions and people often went to the pictures to see Movietone News. Those occasions made changes from hearing about the world on radio.

Fairy tale springs to mind when I think of that crowning ceremony, and looking back, I could describe the event as a wedding, during which Queen Elizabeth 11 vowed to be wedded to her work.

Many pinned their hopes and dreams on that young mother, still ruling her empire while many her age have retired.

In turn, Prince William has played a part in keeping history alive by gifting his mother's engagement ring to his fiancee.

Now, I've never had the pleasure of reading an ebook on a laptop before it was stolen or otherwise. As for hexing other contestants, well, you're definitely not the heroine in this historical romance. As I've already said, many pinned their hopes on Queen Elizabeth 11 (and never into voodoo dolls or the likes!). I'll follow the romantics because we've been treated to a few royal weddings since QE11's crowning and no-one is going to stop the magic.

Long trains, spread over red carpets, trail through Westminster Abbey while the organ resonates throughout that holy place, to fill my heart with joy.

My new favorite royal moment was when Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement. I hope they find all the love and happiness that eluded his parents after their fairytale wedding!

Robyn, I watched bits of that coronation film while waiting on line to see the crown jewels at the Tower of London! It was beautiful, and so lovely to see the jewels "in action" before looking at the real thing

I was just in pre-school when Princess Diana got married, but I was so obsessed with the whole royal wedding furor! I went around for days with a bedsheet tied around my waist for a train. I doubt I'll do that this time, but I will be up super-early to watch the whole thing :)

You said the contest is still open, so here I am, hehe.

Are we allowed to go back in history? I get burned out on the current stuff too easy. But there was just something about Elizabeth I declaring herself married to the country/people and going all "virgin queen" while keeping a lover. She even when so far as to have a dress and stuff made up. Accounts differ on how far she took the 'ceremony' but she knew how to work the PR of the time!

Princess Di's wedding was the greatest moment. I got up in the middle of the night to watch every moment. I also enjoyed Sarah Ferguson's Royal Wedding. She was so down-to-earth in her personality and look that you couldn't help but like her.

Princess Di got married six months before I did so that is an exciting time to remember.

I have to agree with one of the other poster. I thought Fergi was so beautiful. She just glowed. I always liked her because she was real and didn't let the Royals squash who she was.
