Portrait Friday
All this month, to celebrate the release of my Elizabethan-set book The Winter Queen, we'll look at Tudor-era portraits! This week--Elizabeth Vernon, Countess of Southampton

Very pretty. I'm loving the embroidery on her dress.
Is that a book she is holding? Interesting pose. How old was she in the portrait? Her dress and surroundings are adult, but she looks rather young.
