First day of summer

"In two weeks it'll be the longest day in the year...Do you always watch for the longest day of the year and then miss it? I always watch for the longest day in the year and then miss it."
--The Great Gatsby

So, today is the First Day of Summer, the official longest day of the year, and unlike Daisy Buchanan I haven't missed it. :) Here are a few links to help you make the most of the exra sunshine.

Ha. Your post is better than mine. Mine is too lengthy and academic. I may do a heavy edit on it.

Loved the links.

I've been told the Edmond Sun posts its stories online. If so maybe you can download the photos.

Here's my favorite quote from THE GREAT GATSBY:

"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter—tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . . And then one fine morning—
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

That's great writing. Simple, few words written above a high school level of understanding, and yet so powerful and reflective.

I'm green with orgastic envy.
